Greetings,
Spring seemed to have lasted about
4 hours here in Florida as we are now into the 90
degree weather. Welcome Summer.
Today's eNewsletter topic is erectile
dysfunction or E.D. ED affects some 18 million men
though this number is probably much higher, as reports
as often not provided, given the sensitive nature
of the problem. Though the problem has been increasing
steadily over the past 3 decades, the good news
is that this is a highly treatable problem. ________________________________________________________

For males over the age of 70, the most common causes
of ED are: 1. diseased 2. injury 3. side effect
of medication. The last is obviously the most easily
treated as a change of dosage or prescription will
usually correct ED. Causes #1 and #2 can be treated
as well, as you will see in the next section.

With males less than 70 years of age, the causes
are even more treatable. They are:
1. Lack of activity. A recent study
from the University of Alberta stated that over
67% of cases of ED are due to lack of physical activity.
When men were placed on a running, walking or weight
training regimen, nearly 100% of ED were eliminated.
This connects to the #2 reason for
ED for men of any age and that is poor circulation.
Lack of activity and lack of proper nutrition are
the main contributors to poor circulation. Nutrition
such as Curcumen and Circuplex, along with exceptional
therapies such as chelation can alleviate this issue.
Also. . . .bottom line. . . exercise is a must!
Cause #3 for ED in men of all ages
is weakness or problems with the prostate. What
is the prostate?
The prostate is part of a man's sex
organs. It's about the size of a walnut and surrounds
the tube called the urethra, located just below
the bladder. Diagnosable problems such are prostatitis
(usually in men 50 year old or younger) are the
primary cause of ED and can be treated easily. Nutrition
such as Congaplex is used. Other problems such as
BPH (swelling of the gland) can also be treated
and prevented. Zinc is both treatment and prevention,
along with herbs such as saw palmetto and pygeum
are used with much success. Summary: - Exercise
is a must. What kind? The kind you will consistently
do and the kind that will make you sweat while doing
it.
- Pay special attention to prevention
and care of the prostate. Black tea will weaken
the prostate over time. Zinc is a must for treatment
and prevention. - If swelling is present or starting,
consider Saw Palmetto and Pygeum, along with 50-60mg
of zinc.
- Circulation problems? Start chelation
therapy. . .tomorrow morning! Don't wait. - If emotional
aspects are a factor, consider Bach Flower remedies.
I wrote about these wonderful substances in a prior
newsletter.
- Last and certainly not least, talk.
Talk to you wife, your doctor or whom ever you consider
a trusted individual. ED is preventable. Prostate
problems are preventable. Special Note: In my opinion,
natural medicine excells in this diagnostic area.
Where as standard care will look at a problem and
it is either diagnosable or not (clear cut Yes or
No), natural care views regions of the body, organs
and systems in terms of degrees. The prostate can
be "weak" without any diagnosable problem. As such,
when nutrition is given, the prostate and thus,
problems such as ED are usually cleared.
How can one determine weakness of
the prostate (or any other gland, organ or system)?
Applied kinesiology which will be the topic of next
week.
Until then.
To your health,
Dr. David Orman
