How ESPN and the Media are Misleading People about HGH.
The Truth About HGH and Baseball.
You have undoubtedly heard it time and again. . . baseball and
steroids and HGH. The media repeatedly refers to both steroids
and HGH in the same breath. It is very unfortunate that they have
not taken the time to do any research on either subject,
particularly human growth hormone.
As most people know, steroids are illegal. There are countless
studies demonstrating the dramatic and numerous side effects of
medium and long term use, from joint damage to liver damage to
testicular atrophy. In addition, here is a list of side effects
from steroids:
- premature balding
- dizziness
- mood swings, including anger, aggression, and depression
- nausea
- vomiting
- trembling
- high blood pressure that can damage the heart or blood vessels
aching joints greater chance of injuring muscles
- liver damage
- shortening of final adult height
What are steroids?
According to the NIDA (http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofacts/Steroids.html)
definition, Anabolic-androgenic steroids are man-made substances
related to male sex hormones. “Anabolic” refers to
muscle-building, and “androgenic” refers to increased masculine
characteristics. “Steroids” refers to the class of drugs. These
drugs are available legally only by prescription, to treat
conditions that occur when the body produces abnormally low
amounts of testosterone, such as delayed puberty and some types
of impotence. They are also prescribed to treat body wasting in
patients with AIDS and other diseases that result in loss of lean
muscle mass. Abuse of anabolic steroids, however, can lead to
serious health problems, some irreversible.
No one can accurately or ethically debate the issue of steroid
usage. Again, we are talking about STEROIDS.
HGH or Human Growth Hormone is another notion altogether.
What is HGH?
Human growth hormone is known as the Master Hormone
or the "Hormone of Youth". It controls the release of many other
hormones in the body and is made by the pituitary gland in the
center of the brain. During childhood, HGH directs the growth of
the body. In adults, HGH begins to decline steeply with age. This
decline is associated with many of the effects of aging. Hundreds
of studies have been done on the use of HGH in adults. It has
been found to raise energy levels, enhance lean muscle, decrease
body fat, strengthen the heart, improve cholesterol, fortify
bones, smooth out wrinkles, sharpen memory, improve sexual
function, regenerate damaged tissues, boost the immune system,
and improve sleep.
What can HGH do for you? According to the New England Journal of
Medicine, here is a list of the following benefits:
- HGH can decrease body fat
Restoring muscle mass
HGH may reduce wrinkles.
HGH may restore lost hair.
HGH can restore hair color.
HGH increases energy.
HGH increases sexual issues.
HGH may improve cholesterol. -
Improve memory.
Elevate mood/improve sleep..
HGH is the most effective, SAFE, anti-aging substance known today!
There are over 8000 studies on HGH. Virtually ALL have shown the
powerful and effective nature of this substance.
In addition, there are no side effects if taken properly.
Finally, it is a 100% legal substance. It is a leader in the wave
of new medicine, that of anti-aging. The new medicine views aging
as a disease. As such, it is treated in a manner that a disease
would be. HGH has been found to be a strong therapy, in that it
slows down, stops or even reverses the effects of aging.
SPECIAL NOTE: Lifting weights, particularly heavy weights
stimulates HGH release. Sleep stimulates HGH release as does
specific diets.
Will ESPN "condemn" the use of weight lifting, diet and sleep??
For ESPN and in particular Keith Olberman**, and other media
outlets to view such a promising substance as HGH as anything
other than a legal, anti-aging substance is pure stupidity at
best.
It is not that difficult, in the age of the Internet
particularly, to do some quality investigation. If Olberman and
his crew would have done some. . .any for that matter, a rational
and accurate conclusion would have been drawn.
| STEROIDS | HGH |
| Illegal to use | 100% Legal |
| Obtained by underground sources | Obtained by an MD's prescription |
| Many known side effects, even if used "properly" | No side effects if used properly |
** = He is supposed to be a "political expert" yet refers to the
USA as a "democracy" when in fact it is a Republic. I guess truth
and accuracy is not a pre-requesite for ESPN commentators.
