It's back. . . . Tryptophan.
Because Tryptophan is the least abundant amino acid in our diet,
it should be no surprise that these supplements have been widely
used to correct deficiencies for more than a quarter of a century
by doctors in the United States and Europe. Psychiatrists,
medical doctors, and nutritionists, alike, have long recognized
the importance of pure Tryptophan for maintaining good health,
relieving poor mood and irritability, reducing the craving for
carbohydrates, and normalizing sleep.

Having problems with mosquitoes? Plant catnip. Researchers at
Iowa State U discovered that catnip oil is as effective at
repelling those annoying creatures as most commercial insect
repellents. Plant seeds known as "Nepeta Cataria" is a sunny
spot. Pick some leaves and flowers and crush to release the oil.
Then enjoy the summer. . . .

This is one of the most beneficial amino acids and nutritional
supplement known. Here is a partial list of benefits:
* elieves occasional sleeplessness
* Reduces minor premenstrual symptoms
* Sooths nervous irritability
* Relieves muscle pain from exercise
* Supports a good mood
* Reduces the craving for carbohydrates
* Aids addiction recovery Prior to its ban*
I used this with many, many patients and the results were
outstanding. It was one of those natural substances that could
possibly eliminate the need for some pharaceuticals such as sleep
aids and anti-depressive meds. Typical dosage is 500mg and can
now be found at health food stores. **A few years ago, a tainted
batch from Japan caused a number of health problems. At that
time, the FDA took a controversial (and very unpopular) move by
banning all trytophan from the market.
Until next month.
To you health. . .
Dr. David Orman.
