The Art of Letting Go

There are many substances which will strengthen the spleen. They include the following:
  • Crataegus
  • Hyssop
  • Astragalus
  • Gymnema
  • Licorice
  • and a host of others, depending upon the person and the overall constitution. Personalized care, as always, is a must.

It is also the process of letting go that we strengthen our spleen, if not our character. When we strengthen the character, we are able to blossom as humans, taking quantum steps to becoming the person we fancy ourselves to be in our dreams. We find the artist inside the accountant, the thin person inside the heavy one and the hero inside the victim.

For some, it is difficult to simply let go. It is more than just a fear of change. The act of releasing causes us to see that once we let go, there is nothing there but empty space, a source of panic for some, opportunity for others. Some mindlessly race to fill in this gap with anything — more unneeded clothes, more sugar, more gadgets ,more, more, more. The cycle of more leading to the weakening of the spleen leading to more continues in an infinite loop.

Others look at the empty space and avoid the knee jerk reaction to automatically fill in the blank. They know that the empty canvas will eventually be filled, as Nature abhors space. They know that when the time is right, the poet will find his muse and begin writing or the artist will pick up her brush and paint and where space once was, beauty now is.

Just by letting go. . . . and strengthening the spleen.
