Keeping Your Voice Strong and Healthy: Part 2

This is the second of 2 parts involving how to keep the lungs, vocal chords and overall voice strong and healthy. It is a must read for singers, teachers, announcers and others who rely on their voice for their income.

In Part 1, we covered respects of the lungs and the respiratory system. This is the obvious connection to the voice. There is an equal if not typically thought of aspect that needs to be taken care of as well.

It is the Heart and the circulatory system. The reason for this is that traditionally, the Heart is associated with the tongue. . . both “tongues” actually.

The first tongue so to speak, is the one associated with speaking and singing. In other words, it is the voice itself – the ability to sing or speak clearly and powerfully. The second tongue is the ability to choose the right words carefully. It involves an aspect of creativity and the courage to speak one’s truth.

There are 2 powerful yet safe substances that help help “both” voices. They are as follows:

1. Ziziphi Spinosae. This is an outstanding herbal that nourishes the heart (and the liver) and calms the mind. It excellent for insomnia, irritability and palpitations.
