University of Rhode Island researchers examined the substances which are found in maple syrup and were shocked by their discovery. A huge amount of antioxidants — 54 to be exact!

These antioxidants found in maple syrup possess anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-diabetic properties and can now take a seat next to other great substances such as berries, green tea and flax seeds.
