THIS is Key to a Good Night’s Sleep. . . or Not

There are many factors involved in a good nights sleep. They included but not limited to caffeine intake during the day, stress levels, digestive issues, blood pressure issues and many others.

You probably know these.

This one may surprise you.

The noisier your work situation is during the daytime, the greater the likelihood that insomnia will be an issue.

This conclusion is from a study by the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. The study involved cafe workers and the effect that noise during the day had on their sleeping patterns.

The investigators reported that the more noise the employees encountered at work, the higher their blood pressure and levels of the stress hormone cortisol. These were the major reason for insomnia and overall poor sleep patterns including less sleep overall and fewer amounts of the deep REM sleep.

Doc’s Thoughts: I have mentioned a correlation for some time now – the more computer work a person does, the worst their sleep patterns get, particularly if the computer work is done in the evening.
