In my recent courses in Dr. Orman’s Wellness School, I have been focusing on eye health. It is my hypothesis that about 75% of those who wear glasses would not need them if specific nutrition and exercises were done on a regular basis. I am basing this number on the thousands of patients I have treated over the past few decades.
Even if this number is too high or too low, the point is that there is a sizable portion that would benefit greatly. Keeping the eyes healthy is a must. I feel much compassion for those who have lost their sight. The world is a beautiful place with its people, animals and over all topography. One of the substances that I focus on is Lutein. Lutein is a carotenoid that can helps protect vision why keeping the eyes themselves, strong. How? Lutein contains a substance which creates the yellowish portion of the retina. This is where the harmful rays of the sun are absorbed.
Additionally, lutein helps protect against eye diseases such as macular degeneration and cataracts which are all too common and mainly preventable.
Lutein has a powerful “side effect” of sorts. Research indicates that it is extremely useful to increase motivation. This is a most pleasant if not odd, effect. Certainly welcomed too.
Combined lutein with the other 2 major areas that I mention in the mini-course, “Eye Health” via Dr. Orman’s Wellness School and your vision can remain strong and clear throughout your life.
